What an elegant lady! Our beloved Babcha enter her life July 9, 1919, she passed into God’s arms on May 18, 2014.
Born in Poland to parents Francis and Aniela Czajkowski, she was raised on her family farm. Her father was a railroad engineer. Halina was captured as a teenager by the Nazi’s and became a prisoner in a hard labor camp. After the liberation on May 5th 1945 she entered a displaced persons camp and later she met and married Army Air Core Sgt. Tail Gunner Hubert Stwertnik of Colorado Springs. They shared 43 wonderful years together. The love of her life passed away in 1991.
Halina was very proud of her U.S. Citizenship as well as her Polish heritage. She was a devote Catholic who deeply loved her family and enjoyed her friends. Halina was a talented needle crafter, avid gardner and bingo player. She loved to decorate her home with many treasures for the holidays and enjoyed an occasional trip to Cripple Creek.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Genevieve (Jenny) Goins. Halina is survived by her daughter Mary Bradley of Seattle, WA, son-in-law Johnny Goins of Colorado Springs, grandchildren Chris Rocchio, John (Elizabeth) Goins, Jennifer (Dave) Speer, Jamie (Jason) Kimsey, Chris Bradley and Alexandra Bradley, 5 great grandchildren and extended family here and in Poland.
Her beautiful, magnificent, loving presence and red lipstick kisses will be forever in our hearts.
