Michael was born in West Union, Ohio in 1953 and graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1972. He practiced a skilled trade for 55 years as an electrician, a trade he learned from his father. He also worked as a Certified Electrical Safety Professional and as a Facilities and Safety Manager for government defense contractors including Kellog, Brown and Root and Honeywell TSI. He worked hard to provide for his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Genevieve Miller and his sisters, Brenda Gail Morris and Patricia Susan Lawson. He is survived by one sister, Laverne Miller Clark.
Left behind to cherish Michael’s memory is his loving wife, Gloria Miller and their children Zachariah Orosco, Danielle (Steve) Bundy, Adria (Andrew) Stauffer, and Jamie Vititoe. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Leonorah, Kerah, Jayden, Blake, Kylen, Juliette “Jett” and great grandchildren, Lucille and Oliver.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and passed his love of the outdoors to his grandchildren. He often volunteered with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, conducting fish biomass surveys. He assisted in raising money for the Division to purchase several thousand fish that were distributed to various lakes and streams in Colorado. He introduced the sport of fishing to many youngsters via the “Pathway to Fishing “program.
Mike had a great sense of humor - he got a kick out of teasing his loved ones and liked to tell jokes and tall tales! He was a generous man who was always willing to help others. He will be dearly missed, but we will carry his memory in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held to honor Michael’s life at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs on September 27th at 2:00pm.
