Michael Allen Finley

Michael Allen “Sonny” Finley, age 18 passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 Michael was born October 4, 1998 in Grand Blanc, MI. He moved to Colorado in 2001. Michael attended district 49 schools and was set to graduate from Falcon High School in May 2017. He was involved in many activities with FHS including football, student council, track and ROTC. During his school career Michael was the recipient of many awards including the prestigious Daughters of the American Revolution award. Michael was employed at Culver’s in Falcon where he was a trainer. Michael had a larger than life personality and lit up any room he walked into. His smile could make anything better. He was always a friend to everyone, encouraging and building people up. He always had something nice to say and never failed to tell you he loved you. Michael had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Once you knew Michael you were family. He was always thinking of others before himself. He lived his life with integrity and honor. His faith in God and love for family and friends was incredible. He was a sports fanatic and especially loved the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football. Michael is survived by his parents Michelle and Mason Peters of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Roger and Darla Finley of Warren, Ohio. His siblings - Carlie (Andrew) Astor, Mason Peters, Melanie Finley, Caitlin Peters, Faith Peters, Ryan Gregory and Shaina Edler. Aunts Jenny (Kyle) Pitman and Carrie (Keith) Headrick, Special cousins Amy, Ashley and Abigail Pitman and Lillian Springer and his Grandad, Richard (Diane) Headrick of Rochester Hills, MI. Many special friends including his girlfriend Bridget. He was preceded in death by his Grammy, Marcia Headrick and Gramma, Gloria Finley. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Catholic Church on Friday April 21st at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks to contribute to the Michael Finley Memorial Fund at any 1st Bank. Michael’s family would like to thank the community for their outpouring of love and support.
