Micah Lee Flick, 34, was killed in the line of duty on February 5th, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado while serving with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. He is survived by his wife Rachael and his seven-year-old twins, Eliana and Levi.
Micah passed on the anniversary of his 11th year of service with the EPSO during an auto theft investigation that led to a fatal gunshot wound. Micah gave his life protecting his fellow officers and the community. Hours after his death was announced, thousands of law enforcement officers from across the state came to pay tribute and participate in the six mile procession bringing his body from the hospital to the coroner's office. Residents of Colorado Springs lined the streets waving flags and with hands over hearts in the cold to pay tribute to the fallen Deputy.
Micah graduated from Colorado Springs Christian School in 2002 with honors and excelled in his athletic endeavors. He could be counted on for a solid handshake, a genuine conversation, a corny joke and a his personal, humorous take on the latest hit pop song. Everyone who met Micah would describe him as a man of integrity, honor and servitude; a true hero.
As a Colorado Springs native, Micah loved spending time with his family, furthering his education, staying active, and serving in his position as a detective. He was passionate about his faith, his family, and his community.
Micah is also survived by his parents Tim and Chenoa Flick, his three siblings and their spouses: Chantelle Flick Sharketti (Kalani) and their children Kawika and Kainoa, Brynden Flick (Rachel), and Cierra Flick Brown (Chris).
His funeral will be held Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 1:00pm at New Life Church located at 11025 Voyager Parkway in Colorado Springs.
