

Longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Maurine B. Anderson passed away in her home on May 24, 2011, at 101 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Hazen V. Anderson, D.O., who passed away in 1970. He was one of the founders of the Eisenhower Osteopathic Hospital here in town. She was also preceded in death by two infant sons. Marine is survived by her beloved son, James F. Anderson.
Maurine was born on January 20, 1910, in Leonard, Missouri to Ollie and Ella Mae Balance, their only child.
Maurine was socially active in many organizations. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. Before her marriage she was a teacher at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. Maurine enjoyed coaching basketball, many rounds of playing golf, and her Bridge Clubs. After raising her son, she enjoyed traveling all around the world. Maurine was a friend to many and will be missed by all.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Swan-Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs.
Charitable contributions may be made to The Osteopathic Foundation or to First Presbyterian Church.
