Maureen was born in Sioux City, Iowa to John and Laura Welch on June 30, 1950. She attended Bishop Heelan Catholic High School at Sioux City. She married Gene Davis on December 20, 2004, in Johnstown.
She attended Creighton University.
After receiving her Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, her favorite job was a lifeguard at Riverside Pool and teaching developmentally disabled children how to swim.
During this time, Maureen joined an ice-skating club in Sioux City, her mother designed and created many outfits for her routines. She loved being in the spotlight skating to such memorable songs as Unchained Melody.
Back in the day, Maureen loved her job as a window dresser at Fennels Department Store, where she was very proud to have won the top prize many times in the competition between the other department stores.
When she moved to Longmont, she got a job assembling electrical cables for Sherwood Manufacturing, eventually training the overseas employees that would eliminate many jobs.
She moved on to be a teller at First National Bank and then a receptionist at an insurance company and then retired.
Maureen is preceded in death by her father J. Emmett and mother Laura Brink Welch, and her sister, Suzanne Rishe.
Maureen is survived by her husband, Gene Davis, daughter Tara (Jeff) Chesler, son Joshua (Shannon) Horner. Also, grandchildren Lily Ann Chesler, Jake Michael Chesler, Jayden Rhae Horner, and Jace Joshua Horner, and brother Michael (Claryce) Welch.
