Mary Christella "Chris" Lovato

Mary Christella Lovato, 85, Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully with the support of family and friends, Wednesday, May 4, 2011. She was born to the late Ezekiel and Rosario Trujillo, July 22, 1925 in Torres, Colorado. She was married to her beloved Ernest (Ernie) for 49 years, whom she has joined in Heaven.

Chris was a homemaker devoted to her family. As a devout Catholic, she belonged to Sacred Heart Church for 66 years where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was an active volunteer at the food pantry and also volunteered many hours at Sacred Heart School. Chris loved to travel, especially to religious sites in New Mexico and around the world. She loved ceramics, dancing at the senior center, and of course spending time with family and friends.

Chris is survived by her loving children Michael, Louis, Ronald, Rosemarie, Joseph, Dennis, and Thomas along with 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by brothers Max (Irene) Trujillo, Zeke (Mary) Trujillo and sisters Santana (Elipio) Duran, Rosalie (John) Lujan, and Marcella Jackson along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by brother Jerry Trujillo and other family members who have all greeted her into Heaven.

Chris was truly devoted to the Lord and that made her a wonderful source of inspiration to many.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 4:00pm - 6:00 PM with the Rosary at 6:00pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 2030 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs with the Burial services to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery
