Mary Carolyn (Demos) Coffelt, aged 77, of Colorado Springs went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Born in Chicago, Illinois on May 17, 1943, Mary was raised in Newkirk, Oklahoma by William and Marguerite Boyer. Married to Terry Philip Coffelt on September 1, 1963, they had three children and began their life in Colorado Springs in August of 1970. A member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church since 1974, Mary’s most treasured ministry was Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS was an ideal fit for her servant’s heart for motherhood and encouragement of others.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Terry Coffelt of Colorado Springs, her son Chris (Colleen) Coffelt of Papillion, NE, daughter Terri Ellen (Kevin) Faulkner of Blaine, WA, and daughter Stephanie (Steve) Hart of Chandler, AZ. Also surviving are her grandchildren Alex (Eric) Bush, Christopher Coffelt, Jr., Grace Coffelt, Riley Hart, and Natalie Hart; brothers Bill Boyer and Tom (Sandy) Boyer, sisters Beverly (Hugh) McCullough, Janice Shinn, and Judy Crossfield. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother John Demos.
Mary’s life verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Her life and death reflected God’s tender and awesome provision through every stage.
No services are planned at this time.
