Lt. Col (ret) Marius Gus Sorenson, 69, passed away on February 16, 2014 in Dallas, TX. Lt. Col Sorenson was the son of Marius Howard Sorensen and Ethel May (Whitelock) Boothe. He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Sorenson, sisters Myrna Jean Sorensen of Spearfish SD and Marlene (Sorensen) and Robert Rothermel of Sunset Beach NC, brother Gary Lee and Diana Sorensen of Katy TX, son Eric Anthony Sorenson of Glenwood Springs CO, a step daughter Karla Niswonger Gentry of Dandridge TN, step grandsons Tyler Bronson Gentry of Jersey City NJ and Trevor Allen Gentry of Dandridge TN and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the Swan-Law Funeral Home in Colorado Springs CO on Sunday, March 2, from 2 to 6 p.m. Service will be held at the Air Force Academy Chapel on Monday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Associations of Graduates in memory of Lt. Col Sorenson (Class of 1970).
