Maria was born in Kabugao Apayao, Philippines (a northern province) on June 15th, 1926. She completed up to the 6th grade in schooling and married the love of her life, Martin Bugtong.
She and her husband left the Philippines and made their way to America. On their journey to America they spent some time in Japan in which they adopted their first child, James. Making their way to America, they had another child, Linda. Moving from the east coast and finding their way to Colorado with the Padeway family, where they spent many years raising their families. The Bugtong’s and Padeway’s lived three houses down from one another, where they had endless days and nights of celebrations, barbecues, poker nights and being a tight knit family.
Maria worked for the Air Force Academy working in food service. She worked there over twenty years and later retired in (year).
Maria loved to cook, she cooked desserts, delicious Filipino dishes and could throw down on the grill with ribs and steak. She had a special craft for rolling lumpia. Anyone who’s made lumpia with Maria knows it had to be done a certain way, not too much filling and tightly wrapped so when you fried the roll it wouldn't unravel. She enjoyed fishing and would out fish any man that had been there hours before her. She loved to crochet and watch Lifetime movies and the Price is Right. Maria’s pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Allyssa and Ryan. Where Maria devoted the last years of her life to raising, loving and spending all the time she could with them.
Maria is preceded in death by Martin (Husband), James (Son), Penny & ____Padeway (Dearest Family/Friends), Terri (BFF) and Fred Padeway (Beloved Nephew).
Maria is survived by daughter Linda, grandchildren Allyssa and Ryan. Maria is survived by many Padeway grandchildren, cousins and siblings.
