2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Bend,
Oregon on May 22, 1929, Margaret was the daughter of the
late George and Elta (Barber) St. Onge. She attended school
in Bend and lived briefly in Chicago, Illinois then moved back
to Oregon. She worked for the telephone company in
California and married Ralph Bragg on November 8, 1951.
The family moved to The Philippines in 1952 for Ralph's
service in the Air Force returning to the United States in
1954. The family was stationed in Florida, Illinois, Oregon,
and Washington before being stationed at the Air Force
Academy in 1959. Margaret worked as a Civil Service
employee at ENT AFB, NORAD when it opened, and
Peterson AFB retiring in 1990 with thirty years of service.
Margaret was one of the first female Civil Service employees
in the NORAD Command Center in Cheyenne Mountain
where she served as a PBX operator. She had many stories to
tell about life in the "Mountain." She received many awards
and certifications from Civil Service retiring as a GS-11.
Margaret loved her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren
and the outdoors. She enjoyed riding her horses with the Kit
Carson Riding Club, reading biographies, china painting and
spending summers at Pueblo Reservoir with family and friends
on her boat. She loved her poodles Sasha and Maggie and St.
Bernard Kimberly.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Jeannette Appell and son
Michael (Patti) Bragg all of Colorado Springs and her grandchildren
Mandi (Andy) Roehrich, Jeffrey (Stacy) Appell,
Zachery (Chelsea) Stevenson all of Colorado Springs, Jennie
(Larry) Beuer of Florida, Melissa (Armik) Megerditchian of
Maryland. She had ten great grandchildren, Dylan, Haley,
Madison, Aiden, Morgan, Shelby, Ellie, Avery, Zander and
Adam.
Preceded in death are her parents George and Elta (Barber)
St. Onge; husband Ralph A. Bragg; brother Delmar St.Onge
and grandson Travis Bragg Sole.
Thanks go out to the staff of Brookdale Vista Grande assisted
living for their care over the past year. Special thanks also to
Brookdale Hospice for their care in her final days.
Services will be at Swan-Law Chapel June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM
with a reception immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region or Safe Place
Animal Rescue.
