Manuel Jack Amaro born August 16th, 1941 went to be with his heavenly Father on April 13th at Penrose Main Hospital, his loving wife and family by his side. Preceded in death by his father Juan, mother Damacia, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Manuel was a quiet man with a terrific dry sense of humor. He spoke volumes with his generosity and kindness. He attended Fort Hays and Wichita State Universities. He was employed by Farm Credit Banks of Wichita for 30 years. After retirement, Manuel worked as an ESL para professional for 10 years. He was also a Big Brother to 3 young men and received the Big Brother of the year award in 1995. Manuel’s passion was rock and roll and Mexican music. He was the leader of a band and a Mariachi group. Manuel is survived by the love of his life of 35 years, Juanita and sisters: Lucy McDonough, Ramona Marquez (Pete), Mary Quinn, Rose Johnson (Harry) and Cecilia Raya. The Rosary will be Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 4pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Monday, both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 2715 Pikes Peak Ave. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens.
