He began his life journey in Nebraska until his parents relocated to Manitou Springs, Colorado. He graduated from high school at Wasson in Colorado Springs and then promptly joined the United States Marines. After completing his enlistment with the Marines and a tour in Vietnam he returned to the Colorado Springs area and entered service with the U.S. Government as a civil servant working in a career field he loved as a printer and married the love of his life Victoria Rose Mohr in 1967.
When the government decided to close the printing plant and contract out the work in 1983 he continued his government service at Peterson Air Force Base as a C-130 aircraft engine mechanic until he transferred to the California Air National Guard to finish his career and retired in 1993.
He was a devoted husband, father and mentor to his three boys, the loudest cheering parent at the boy’s sporting events and a coach for their sporting ventures.
Lewis was proceeded in death by his loving wife Victoria, his parents and six siblings; Paul, David, Charles, Clyde, Bob and Bill. He is survived by his three boys; Kenneth and wife Angela, Gary and wife Eve and Donald, and three grandchildren; Kevin, Kelsey and Zackery.
