Leonard C. Thesing

Leonard C. Thesing, 79, of Security, Colorado passed peacefully from this life to his eternal life on December 20, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.He was born August 1, 1930 in Ogallah, Kansas to William and Frances Thesing. He graduated from Trego County High School in 1948.In 1954, he married the love of his life, Mary Louise McNamara. They were married in Green Bay, Wisconsin and enjoyed 55 years of marriage.Leonard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years. He then worked twenty-one years for the El Paso County Department of Transportation.He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. Leonard enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, classic country music, reading and watching westerns, and taking his dearly loved dog, Cindy, for walks.Leonard is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Thesing; son, Chuck (Kim) Thesing, two daughters, Linda (Doug) Marsh, Kathi (Manuel) Tavarez; brother, William H. Thesing; sisters, Eleanor (Wilbur) Skroh, Berniece Shank; as well as many nieces and nephews. Leonard greatly loved his eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister (Beatrice), brother (Henry), and many aunts, and uncles.He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, Security. Rosary will follow at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.
