Leona Loretta Tennant, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. She was born March 23, 1921 near Hildreth, NE to Margaret Anka (Harms) and Frank Tamme Westerbuhr. She is survived by her son, Darrell Tennant; two granddaughters- Tricia Burley and her husband Toby of Colorado Springs and Rhonda Hayes and her husband Chris of Kansas City, MO; two great-grandchildren- Tyler and Cheyenne Burley; her sister, LaVonda Schultz of Farmington, NM; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tennant; two sons, Lawrence and Ronald Tennant, and her daughter, Jean Tennant.
Leona worked for many years as an LPN and retired from Penrose Hospital in 1984. She was a gracious hostess who brought great happiness to all and was loved by many.
A memorial service to celebrate Leona’s life will be held Monday, April 9, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home.
