Lenore Edythe (Urbach) Poulson passed away on July 4, 2017, just 2 days after her 84th birthday. She was born to Conrad and Edith Urbach in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, but was a resident of Colorado Springs since the early 1940’s.
Lenore graduated from Colorado Springs High School (Palmer) in 1951, remaining an active alumna member. She enjoyed teaching Kindergarten for several years; however, her joy was being a homemaker. She loved to cook, bowl, entertain, and was involved in many school activities. Lenore served as President of the Officers’ Wives Club, President of the elementary PTA, and engaged in various community activities. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church for nearly 70 years, holding many positions including Church Historian. Lenore was best known to show her love, by sending greeting cards to family and her dear friends for each and every occasion.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Retired Lt. Colonel William (Bill) Clinton Poulson. Lenore was a devoted mother to three daughters: Cheryle Lynette Poulson, Patricia Annette (Poulson) Wimble (husband, Greg), and Melanie Sue Poulson-Flowers (late husband, Jimi). She was also Grammy to: Bradley and Stuart Potter, Ryan and Connor Wimble, and Samuel and Lauren Flowers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Swan Law Funeral Home, located at 501 North Cascade, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Services will be held at 10:00 AM at First Congregational Church on Monday, July 10, 2017, located at 20 East St. Vrain Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
In lieu of flowers, continue to share the love of “JOY” that Lenore shared with family and friends!
