Ken is preceded in passing by his wife, Patricia (January 8, 2022) and is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Swaim (Thomas), of El Paso County, Colorado and his sons, Scott Hiser of Colorado Springs, Michael Hiser, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, and Dennis Hiser (Renee) of Colorado Springs.
Kenneth was born on November 30, 1931, in Page, West Virginia to parents Henry and Annis Hiser. Growing up in mining country near Oak Hill WV, he enlisted in the Air Force and was a radar tracking analyst when he met and later married Patricia Faylor in Peoria on January 18, 1955. Kenneth’s Air Force career brought the couple on a 21 year adventure, which brought them to Colorado in 1963. There, Patricia and Kenneth raised four children in Widefield. An adept mechanic with an independent spirit, Ken owned several local AMOCO Service Stations, worked transportation as an over the road truck driver and drove busses for School District 3 and Silver Key. Kenneth was a loving husband and dedicated father. He enjoyed time with his five grandchildren: Michael, Erin, Scott, Jesse and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Scott. Kenneth loved his dogs, including Dachshunds, a St. Bernard, a Shih Tzu, and most recently two Pekingese. He enjoyed road and RV travel around the country, and family vacations to attractions such as Branson, Missouri and DisneyLand.
A committal service is scheduled for immediate family on November 17th, 2023 at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs where he will be interred.
