A Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 11:00AM-12:00PM, a Celebration of Life Service is to immediately follow at 12:00PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
Kenneth will be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 2:00PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
Kenn was born in a farming community on July 23, 1930 in Kennett, MO to Odie B. Hampton and Mamie Eunice (Tate) Hampton. He was the youngest of six children.
After graduating from Kennett High School in Missouri, Kenn joined the Army where he served his country for the next 20 years. His assignments took him to Ft. Knox, Ft. Bliss, Ft. Meade, Ft. Holabird and many others stateside. He also served in Japan, the Korean War, Turkey and Germany. His last assignment was in Ft Lewis, Washington where he retired in 1968 and then worked for the United States Post Office as a Postal Clerk until 1996.
Kenn’s interests include travel, spending time with kids and grandkids, baseball, basketball, refinishing furniture, Colorado College hockey games, stamp and coin collecting, reading, ancestry, singing, dancing and eating dessert.
Kenn is preceded in passing by his eldest daughter and wife, survived by 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His wife of 32 years (deceased), Sharon Kay Hampton, his daughter (deceased at 56 years), Karen Glavan married to Mike; his daughter of 55 years, Karla Cerjan married to Keith; his son of 54 years, Kevin Hampton; his grandchildren, Kole, Sydney, Scott, Kimberly and Emily married to Niko with 2 children. As the youngest of his siblings, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
