Kathryn Schutz McCall, age 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Kathryn was born on January 3, 1945 in Winterset, Iowa to Helen and Andy Schutz. Kathryn is survived by her husband, John McCall; her sisters, Arlene Hasling and Betty Golden; her brothers, Marc Schutz and Ron Schutz; and her precious dog Abby Lynn.
Kathy moved to Pueblo with her family as a young girl and graduated from East High School in 1963. She attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and earned a degree in Christian Education. After college she actively served in ministry with her husband, John as he pastored the Faith Baptist Church in Sarasota, FL for 26 years. Sensing the call of God to missionary work they began a ministry in SE Asia training nationals for 15 years. Kathy was active in sharing the Gospel in China through teaching conversational English to children. John and Kathy have been actively serving at Woodmen Valley Chapel as Community Group Leaders, as well as deacons. Kathy also volunteered as a classroom assistant at Discovery Canyon Elementary School. Kathy was an avid reader, and loved the Word of God. Her love for life and people was evidenced by her giggles, her contagious smile and her never ending supply of hugs. She was an avid supporter of the Florida Gators and Tim Tebow.
A visitation for Kathryn will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m at Woodmen Valley Chapel, 290 E. Woodmen Rd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m.
Kathryn will be laid to rest at Imperial Cemetery, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005.
