Kathleen Frances Downing

Kathleen Frances (Webb) Downing died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 28, 2022, in Colorado Springs. She was 82. She was born March 7, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, to Nancy and Frank Webb as an only child. She married Bobbie Dean Downing on February 27, 1965, in Farmers Branch, Texas. They had one daughter, Deanna. The family moved frequently throughout the American Southwest before settling in Colorado Springs in 1995. She was a member of Sunrise Methodist Church in Colorado Springs.

Kathy and Bob were married for 41 years until his death in 2006. They enjoyed traveling, especially to England and the Pacific Northwest. She enjoyed taking cruises and being in the mountains, scrapbooking, word puzzles, and her cats, but she most loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy and Frank Webb. She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Smiley, and her husband, Steve, of Colorado Springs; and three granddaughters, Ashley Smiley and her fiancé, Wes McAllister, of Palmer, Texas, and Shelby Smiley and Courtney Smiley, both of Denver. Kathleen will be laid to rest with her parents and husband in San Antonio, TX on March 6th.
