Joyce Anne (Bonds) Switser passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Colorado Springs. She was born on May 3, 1934 in Rocky Ford, CO to Verne and Rosine Bonds. She graduated as a Manzanola Bobcat in 1952 with her dear friends and classmates.On December 19, 1954 she married Milford (Mel) Switser and they went on to have two children and were married for 57 years. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1969 where Joyce was a wonderful homemaker and served her church, St. Paul's United Methodist, faithfully as a trustee. She was known at the church as "the sticky bun lady" for her delicious cinnamon rolls. She was an excellent cook and baker, and spoke fondly of the large get-togethers she and Mel would host. She recalled with great fondness preparing meals for 50 or more family and friends in her small kitchen. More than anything, she loved taking care of her family.Joyce is survived by her son, Randy (Nancy Tollefson) Switser, and her daughter Janna (Eric) Younger of Colorado Springs; granddaughter Tracy (Larry) Reedy and great-grandson Grayson of College Park, MD; granddaughter Mariann Switser and great-granddaughter Natalie of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by her brother Ron (Mary Sue) Bonds of Grand Junction and sisters Darlene Stover of Fowler; Margie Henderson of Pueblo; and Sharon (Larry) Fellhauer of Wichita Falls, TX; sister-in-law Sarah Bonds of Pueblo; in addition to numerous extended members of her family and some wonderful friends she's made along the way.She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother Jerald Bonds. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday, May 23rd at St. Paul's United Methodist Church located at 2111 Carlton Ave., Colorado Springs, 80909. Interment will be in Fowler, Colorado.
