Jonal Lartigue was born to Love and Pearl Fontenot Lartigue on September 10, 1946 in Mamou, Louisiana. He grew up in nearby Eunice, where he graduated from Charles Drew High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation, he made his way to Colorado Springs, CO and studied X-ray Technology at Penrose Hospital. He then served his country in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After military service, Jonal returned to Penrose where he worked as a radiological technologist for 12 years.
Education was important to Jonal and in addition to his X-ray training, he earned an Associates degree in business at El Paso Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics at The Colorado College. He also taught X-ray technology at Pueblo Community College. His charismatic personality was a perfect fit for the next phase of his career as a salesman. He worked for E.I. Dupont for 13 years, and for Konica, Diagnostic Imaging, and Doctor’s Supply, Inc. However, his role as owner of Lartigue’s Diagnostic Imaging Sales was a key career highlight.
Jonal was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc, fraternity. He was a friendly, kind man who loved his family, friends, and the game of golf. He touched countless lives and there are many left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory. Among those are his wife of 39 years, Chaurice Lartigue, their children, Michon and Jeremy, his granddaughter Sophia; his sister Betty Brown and brother –in-law, Willie Brown, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, family members, golf buddies, friends, and colleagues.
To honor his wishes, private services will be held for Jonal on Saturday, April 7th. Following is a reception at Patty Jewett Golf Course for friends and colleagues from 1pm to 3pm.
