John Anthony Slomski

I very much enjoyed life with my life-long partner, Aneida, my wife. I am very proud of my children despite my shortcomings. God has told us, “‘. . . let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,’ declares the Lord” (Jer 9:24). I am His, I know Him, I understand Him, I am with Him–I hope you do or will do the same.

John was well known for his dedication to God, his family and his country, his care for those in need, his interests in science and science fiction, and his quirky sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, four children, Christina Rae Blaisdell & spouse Ben Blaisdell, John Slomski Jr, Carolyn Slomski and Ian Slomski, sisters Irene Traffenstead and Elaine Wagner, mother-in-law Triny Jackson, and four grandchildren Theron, Xavier, Kian and Áine Rochette.

John was born May 22, 1958, in Indianapolis, IN, to Raymond and Gloria (Herrmann) Slomski. John was married November 15, 1980, in Biloxi, MS to Aneida Jackson. He earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Colorado Technical University and a master’s degree in computer security from Regis University. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after an enjoyable career as a computer specialist. He was a developer and systems administrator most recently working with Compassion International. He loved working on cars and always maintained the family cars. He enjoyed running and when he was younger did a trail run to the top of Pikes Peak.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Mountain View Funeral, in the Swan Law building at 501 N Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Burial will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 10545 Drennan Rd. at 12:00 PM. Following will be a potluck reception at 4:00 PM at 1259 Collins Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
