Pete was born on 12/08/1937 in Rawlins County, KS to John Clifford Porter and Dora Elizabeth Porter. He was the fourth child of six. Her parents made the move to Colorado in 1940 with their 4 children. They settled in Black Forest, Colorado.
Pete worked hard at McCann Brothers Transfer and Storage for many years. Later on the company was sold to Cowan’s, another moving company.
While living in Stratton Meadows, he served with the Stratton Meadows Fire Department and earned a number of awards.
Pete loved our Rocky Mountains. His favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting, especially for deer and elk. He also bagged a Rocky Mountain Goat and had the head mounted. His second favorite pastime was to go to Cripple Creek and play the witches and buffalo slot machines.
Pete was preceded in death by both of his parents, his life partner Taeko, and his siblings Vada J. Combs, Jerry Joan Newell, Jackie Porter and Donna June Dugan.
He is survived by a brother Gene Porter and his wife Juanita of Falcon, Colorado. Also many nieces and nephew
A Graveside Service will be held at Peyton Cemetery on Thursday, June 20th at 10am.
