John Mobley, 81, passed away suddenly at home on January 2, 2018. He had been ill with COPD.
John was the owner of Consolidated Gas Company and serviced most of Teller County and part of Park County from offices in Cripple Creek, Woodland Park and Lake George. He remained in business for 27 years until 1986 when he sold and retired.
John was born in Colorado Springs and lived there thru graduation from Colorado Springs High School. Shortly after graduation he married Zora Smart. Their union was blessed with three sons, Robert (Roberta) of CA., William (Von) of Arvada and Charles (Ingrid) of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his sister, Lou (Howard) Seigal and niece, Lisa of Northglenn, CO. John has eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Following Zora's passing in 1985, John married Virginia Lewis of Cripple Creek, Colorado. He gained two stepsons, Cole and Russel Rice from this marriage.
John had a passion for classic cars and owned many that he showed all over the tri state area. He was a charter member of the "Two Mile High" Club, the Golf Camp Search and Rescue And a fifty year "Life" member or the Victor Elks Club # 0367 His other passions were the Denver Broncos & the Rockies.
John was his own man who took on all life could give, and enjoyed most of it. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial Service to be held on January 12th at 1:00p.m. at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock, Colorado Springs.
