He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 25, 1936. John enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17, and received a degree from the Air Force College in 1978. He retired from the Air Force after 26 full-filling years. After retirement, he spent 23 years at Kissing Camels, from 1981 to 2004 as Chief of Security. John had a passion for western TV shows and movies. He attended mass regularly and was a member of PAFB Catholic Chapel.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane A. (Duellman) Fish, their children, John W. Fish (Annalyn), Janelle M. Lynn and James A. Fish (Anne), grandchildren; Jessica Wilkerson, Courtney Baugh, Rylan Fish, Alyson Fish, Bryson Lynn, Morgan Lynn, Evan Fish, Leann Fish; three great grandchildren; Trace, Gabriel and Brooklyn; One sister, Arlene Leibundgut
A visitation will take place from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 16th at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd. Funeral mass arrangements will be held at 10:00 am, January 17th at Peterson AFB Chapel. Graveside service and Military Honors will be rendered at 12:00 PM, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Thursday, January 17, 2019.
