Dear John, Annalynn, and Family,
            I am so sorry for the deep loss your Dad’s passing has left on your hearts. You all are in my prayers during this difficult time. I would like you to know there is true wealth in the stories and memories of your Dad. People may forget what he did or said, but “They will never forget how he made them feel.” At the heart touching viewing you had for your Dad I overheard and was told a few stories of your Dads life.  I only met him once but the stories lifted my heart.  It is those stories that will bring you comfort. I think your Dad would say “You may have your sorrow now, but pull out a memory or a story and share it with someone. Have a good laugh, put a smile on your face and know that I will see you again, and your heart will sing with joy and no one can ever take that joy from you.
           For now, know that there is healing and strength in tears. They are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of overwhelming grief and deep abiding Love. It is ok to grieve for the loss of that love as it will heal your heart.   I will keep you in my prayers that God Our Savior will bring you all peace, and that your memories will bring you comfort.

Your family is so very special to my heart.

I'm so sorry for your Loss. I feel so lucky that I got to meet and get to know Mr. Fish.
My Dad was stationed in Hawaii the same time you all were. Your family enriched my life in many ways. You and " mom Jane" always welcomed me in your home
There was always plenty to eat, stories to tell, and sometimes music to listen to. 
I remember every time when John would come home because he drove the coolest loudest muscle car... I always thought he was the coolest dad ever!
I. Spent more time at their house then my own 
John and Jane's daughter, Janelle was and still is  one of my very best friends.
John was always a giant of a gentle man. Thank you for always making me feel loved and welcome.

Dear John and Family,

We keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this time of such great loss of a father, a husband, military man and the patriarch of the family.    Words cannot express the void that a passing, such as this, leaves, but I am confident that your family treasures many wonderful life memories.

With that, we are so proud and honored to have John Fish, Jr., as a member of our Broadmoor family for decades.  Not only has John contributed more long hours and support, but he has also always worked with heart and passion, uplifting others in times of need, such as this. John Fish was the Father of my dear friend Janelle.  I remember him as a giant  of man, with a gentle soul.  He had a great sense of humor.  What a great loss to us all.  Prayers and hugs to your family. Love, Kelly

I have known his grandson for many years. Mr. Fish had always been welcoming and warm to me. He allowed me into his home, given me work, fed me, and made me feel like I had always been a part of the family. He will be remebered as a loving and caring person with a warm soul. 

     I want to thank my Dad for all he did for our family throughout the years.  He took on many extra jobs to get us through, he spent countless hours away from us to provide. Even though he was a man of few words with his emotions, his love for all of us shined through in his actions. 
      I know without question, my Dad had a special love for me. We weren’t the hugging kind of family that says I love you, but it is understood with out the need to verbalize.  
     I want to verbalize to my personal walking “teddy bear”of a Dad, I LOVE YOU🥰

My memories of John William Fish, "Uncle Jay" are mostly from childhood; they have lasted many years and they are happy.

In the 1970's, in Winona MN, Uncle Jay, Auntie Jane, John, Janelle and Jim would occasionally stay at our house for a few days when they would visit us and other family in Fountain City, WI, and the vicinity, across the Mississippi. 

As a kid, I had never personally known anyone quite like Uncle Jay; to me he seemed kind of like a movie star. Even though he was a dad and a husband and our uncle, he had sort of an 'Elvis-like' swagger about him. And sometimes when he talked with Auntie Jane I remember him calling her "babe." It was a term of endearment.

. . "Where's the suitcase 'Babe'?" or . . "What time are we supposed to be there 'Babe'?" 

Another memory, during a summer in the 1970's when the Fishes came to stay, Uncle Jay had just purchased a brand new Ford LTD. It was sort of a metalic dark brown color.

The first time I got to ride in it was a very hot summer day when he and my Dad drove us kids over to the pool in Fountain City to swim with some of our other cousins and go to Grandpa's root beer stand.

That LTD was the first car, I recall riding in, that had air conditioning; and he had it on 'full blast' to circulate the air in part because the cigarette smoke from him and my dad was very heavy. I couldn't wait to get out of that car.

In the early 70's, Uncle Jay was stationed away from his family. They could not go with him because he went to Vietnam. I remember worrying about him and remember being very proud of him and telling my friends at school about him.

The last time I got to talk with Uncle Jay we had a nice visit on the telephone on Veteran's Day a couple years ago.

May Almighty God grant him Eternal Rest and may Perpetual Light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace.

Everything I’ve ever heard about Mr. Fish has been nothing but tales of how kind and loving he was and how he could make people laugh.  He was always very kind to me in the few times I spent with him. I know that he will be greatly missed and that he was dearly loved.  I’m sure that he is smiling down on everyone he held dear right now

I’ve known Jay and have been part of his family in many ways. I know he loved his family and took great pride in his careers ,their home and his “cars”. I realized early in the years of knowing him that he was a gentle giant,and a man of few words . One year Jay made me a a small mailbox which contained a pencil and note paper. I think he was hinting for me to get a “doorbell” a my home. When my late husband was sick Jay and the whole family would check on him when I was away from home. The whole family are very special to me. They were always available to help if needed.  I will miss Jays presence dearly. He will always be in my heart with many fond memories.

While Mr. Fish seemed scary because of his large stature, he was according to Janelle a “Teddy Bear”. We know that your bond with him was special and we know he will be missed, know that we are here if you need us.

I had the world's greatest grandpa. I will never forget the way he used to look at my grandma. Even after 60 years he still looked at her like he was star struck. He taught me what it looks like when a man is totally smitten, and that I will never forget. I will always love you and miss your mischievous smile grandpa.

Jay was a kind  over grown teddy  bear.  He was a person your respected.   Rest in peace Jay
