Jimmie Wood, 70, passed away due to Congestive Heart Failure on December 11, 2010. Jimmie was born in Los Angeles, California on May 31, 1940 to parents Elery and Dorothy Wood. He was a long time Colorado Springs resident, moving here in 1945. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army for 4 years, and his primary occupation was a Commercial Route Driver. On January 18, 1991, Jimmie married his loving wife Loretta Selby Wood. He was also a member of the Pikes Peak Trikers.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Elmer and Buz Wood, and sisters Mary Sulzer and Shirley West. He is survived by his wife, children, Jimmie Wood, Jr., Bill Mohrenweiser, Terry Lane, Brenda Foster, Sandra Young, Kathy Alcivar, Jodie Poe, Kristina Church and Deann More, as well as his in-law’s Luis Alcivar, Steve Church, Cammie Mohrenweiser, Debbie Lane, and his sisters Madeline Myers and Joyce Lebsock. Jimmie is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at First Bank of Colorado in Jimmie Wood’s name.
