DO YOU REMEMBER?   These are our famous words my brother Jim and I asked each other the past few years. As kids growing up in hamlet made us a lot of memories. Our friend Dwayne Daniels went fishing at the river with us and we hunted rabbits, squirrels and pheasants .Jim and I had some ornery in us chasing our younger brother Terry up the drapes with a vacuum cleaner. We've laughed a lot over this. Always loved him though. After moving back to hamlet we started planning our deer and pheasant hunting trips here. These trips were fun and a lot of do you remembers around hamlet. Jim's boys came with him when they were older. All of our fun made more memories for us at home. Dawanna said all our phone conversations every Sunday were full of laughter, and a walk down memory lane.

Do You Remember?  It was either about dad's pitch players in the station or driving cars, just about everything around hamlet. They sure did laugh!! I loved Jim for my teasing brother in law too.  They all were a loving family to me. 

All these memories kept us close. I'd like to ask more DO YOU REMEMBERS again, but God gave you a resting place with him now. We're gonna miss you. Our love is with you always.

About 3 weeks before Jim passed, we had coffee together and listened to some of his favorite music from the most recent cd that his grandson, Chris, made for him.

To the whole family of Jim:
This is just too hard, my heart hurts. I still have a voice mail from him 4 years ago on Mom’s birthday. He was asking if the coffee was on cuz he was in the neighborhood and was gonna stop in for a cup! Didn’t matter that he was in Colorado and we are in Arizona! 😳 That was Jim. Always teasing Mom and loving her. She loved it when he would call her & ask if she would accept a “collect” call. She always told me that she wouldn’t accept many, but always would from her Jimmy! He was loved so much and is going to be missed. 

Uncle Jim was an inspiration to me.  After moving to C-Springs in 1984, he and Aunt Mary made sure I never went hungry.  I was so impressed with his willingness to help me and his great work ethic that I thought to myself this must be what the military did to him. On Oct 1st 1985 I joined the Air Force.  Thanks Uncle Jim it was the best decision of my life.  God Bless you and your family.  You’ll truly be missed!  

We will miss sharing Sunday breakfasts with Jim at Sheldon's and enjoying his sense of humor and latest stories,  talking trucks and hunting trips and finding out who was hosting the Sunday  family dinner that week.   He always asked how we all were and if we were all staying out of trouble.   We all agreed that staying out of trouble wasn't  much fun .    He was a very special  friend  and  will be greatly missed  by all of us.   Sunday breakfast just wont be the same.

From the first time I met dad I felt the warmth of his love as he welcomed me with arms wide open calling me one of his own.  As the family grew  with each grandchild I was so impressed by dad's great love as he tenderly embraced the little ones. The memories keep coming in waves upon waves. One I hold deer to my heart is when dad asked me to lunch this past fall. "It's a very nice day…” the heart to heart conversations led to the affirmation of where dad would spend his eternity. We ended the afternoon slowly driving around taking in autumn’s beauty, listening to his favorite songs and reminiscing. I Love you dad. I thank God for you, for your love and that you are in the presence of your Savior.
I will miss your hardy laugh at the little things as it echoes through Todd's laughter. 
I will miss your orneriness...

Jim,  You were a great neighbor, but most of all a great friend.  I always enjoyed sitting out on your truck tailgate in the afternoon sharing a pepsi or ice tea with you.  Our conversations were always enjoyable...even when we argued about whose front lawn was greener.  Now that you are not here to argue, I will admit you beat me on the green lawn contest.  Laura and I had some fun times with you and Mary whether it was at one of the many garage sales or just going out on a Friday night dinner.  We will truly miss you but now that you are in God's hands, you are in a much better place.  

It suggests to include a photo but when we were kids the best memories  came through our mental snapshots that seem to last forever. The Greeley family and the Sailors girls all grew up together.  From riding bikes all day and into the evenings.
Oh, to relive only one of those days or evenings just one more time.
My heart is with each of you and breaks from the loss of your sibling and big brother.

I metJim 44 years ago while we were in the service at Cheyenne Mountain I have so many great memories of my brother Jim Greeley as he always referred to me as his brother we shared many long trips together and overnight stays somewhere with Jim and Mary I have so many stories I could tell about Jim but this is not the day for that I will miss Jim in our morning talk For the last five years we have talked on the phone or with each other every morning I will never forget Brother Jim  and the times we spent together love you brother Jim I will miss you but never forget or the time we had together.

Jim and I graduated together in 1957.  I got to see both Jim and Mary at our 60th reunion
We both stayed in Imperial 
Great to see them
I was a bridesmaid at their wedding in McCook
I have known Jim since I was in grade school
I would stop at their filling station in Hamlet many times on my way to my grandparents home east of Lincoln
Such special preople


He was a wonderful Dad and we had such a great  relationship. We loved to fight with each other, but enjoyed the time we spent together. He loved his family - each and every one of us. He was a loving Grandpa to our kids Dylan and Shelby. 
He loved wood working and he built wonderful keepsakes for each of us that we will cherish forever. He taught Mark so much and was an excellent example of hard work for all of us. We love ❤️ you Dad!!
