Jimmie Bartels was a Colorado native born in Denver, Colorado who lived in Lake George, Woodland Park, and Colorado Springs, and went to school at Immanuel Lutheran School and Palmer High School. In 1997, Jimmie married the love of his life, Domenga (Mingie) Bartels and they built a beautiful life together.
Jimmie was always happy to lend a helping hand and gained great pleasure in being of service to others. He was a gentle man with a caring heart and a deep love for God. He loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving where we’d play different board games that Jim would master in a short time.
He always wanted to experience a cruise ship, but instead he traveled with his wife to California, Canada, and the Philippines. He enjoyed his visit to the Philippines so much! There he met the rest of his wife’s family. Enjoying the “Fiesta” the annual festival, he danced and mingled with his wife’s friends and family.
Jim was an honorable man, a great provider, and a family man. As a partner, he did his part helping around the house and paying the bills.
He was upset when he could not drive anymore because he loved to drive. Whenever a family member needed assistance, he did not hesitate, he was always willing to help in time of need. He never complained, he was truly a family man; we could always count on Jim no matter what. He was his wife’s sidekick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ruth Bartels, and his brother, Loren Bartels. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, 6 kids, 21 grandkids, 10 great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
He worked at Goodwill, was a production worker at SCI Corporation for 16 years, then volunteered at Volunteers of America.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.memorialgardensfuneralhome.com for the Bartels family.
