Jerry Vannatter, 37 of Colorado Springs, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Jerry was born in Charleston, West Virginia and served with the 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment and the 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. He also served in two Iraq tours and was a Purple Heart recipient. Jerry was an official instructor at Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu in Colorado Springs. He earned the rank of Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Randal Vannatter. His mother, Sandra Vannatter and sister, Nicci Barker, both of Hoover, AL, survive him. Also left to cherish his memory are Natasha, Devon, Christian and Alyssa, as well as special aunts, uncles and cousins from his home state of West Virginia.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be arranged at a later date.
