Jerome Scippio peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on April 10th, 2023. He was born in White Springs, Florida, on August 3rd, 1942, to his parents the late Arnold and Alma Scippio. He was the youngest of 5 children.
Jerome accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. After attending local grade and high school, he attended North Carolina A&T. He joined the United States Air Force in 1964, and did his basic training at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois, as a pneudraulic system specialist. This led him to Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia where he met the love of his life, Annie Grace Love. They were united in Holy matrimony in August 1965. The pair travelled to Colorado Springs, Colorado; Grand Forks, North Dakota; New Orleans, Louisiana; Bentwaters, England; and Victorville, California. Upon completion of their travels they decided to make Colorado Springs their home. They are blessed with a daughter, a son, and three grandchildren.
Jerome served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, 1 month, and 13 days. He was honorably discharged on November 1st, 1983, as a Master Sergeant.
He became a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in 1967 under the leadership of Pastor M.E. Proby. He is presently a member of the Original St. John’s Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Willie J. Sutton Jr., serving in the financé ministry until the Lord welcomed him home.
Jerome is left to be remembered and cherished by his wife, A. Grace Scippio, one daughter, Hope Scippio, one son Stephen (Melissa) Scippio, 2 granddaughters, Alexandria Cantrell, Chenoa Scippio, 1 grandson, Makeah Scippio. He is also survived by one brother, Bernard Scippio of Lake City, Florida, one sister, Loretta Whittle of Miami, Florida, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was proceeded in death by one brother, Leon Scippio, and one sister, Roslyn Scippio Sparks.
