Jed Davis aged 62, passed away on January 22 2017 in Colorado Springs Colorado. He was the husband of Gwyn Engen. They shared 32 years of marriage together and had been together for 14 years previously before marriage
Jed was born May 18 1954 in Duluth Minnesota. He was the son to Alvin Davis and Esther Salmela. He is survived by 3 sisters, Sue, Sheila and Judy. He graduated high school in Duluth and did attend some college in Minnesota.
Jed married Gwyn Engen in July of 1984 in Denver Colorado. They were high school sweethearts and even were in the same first grade class. Jed and Gwyn moved to Colorado in 1984 where Jed opened his business Apprentice Personnel which he ran and was CEO of for over 25 years. He sold the business and was enjoying the retired life. Jed and Gwyn have two children from this union, Chelsea (32) and Jesse (28). Jed is also a proud grandfather of Kade (2) and Jaiden (1), whom he loved to spend time with and offer candy from his stash by his bedside.
Jed was a larger than life character, with a witty sense of humor and had a boisterous presence. He was an accomplished and successful businessman with unrivaled intelligence. He took pride in his home, his business and his family and he loved his dogs. Jed would swim and walk his dog daily and enjoyed politics and reading. Jed also loved to ride his motorcycle and drive fast sports cars. Those who met him never forgot him and he made in impact on those he knew. Jed took great care of his family and was influential to their paths in life. Jed had a large heart and would help anyone in need if he had the capability. He was active with the apartment association and was a well-known figure in the community. Jed made life exciting and every moment with him was never dull. He always made people laugh and he will be sorely missed by those who loved him.
A memorial will be held in his honor on February 4 2017 at Swan Law Funeral Home at 200pm with reception to follow at the Warehouse. All are welcome to come and celebrate Jed’s life as he has asked that we have a party with music as loved to be the center of attention and could command a room.
