Janice was a devoted wife for 60 years before her husband passed.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Karen (Casias) Valdez; granddaughter, Sheridan Casias; and her son-in-law, Anthony Valdez, she is also survived by her sister Carole Threlkel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Casias; her parents, Thomas and LuLu Pankau; four brothers, Thomas, Edwin, Leo, and Eugene Pankau; three sisters, Elinor Hannasch, Mary Lou Kissenger, and Therese Ann Merril.
Janice was born on September 26th, 1941 in Nebraska. She then later moved to Colorado. Janice grew up in a large Catholic family. She attended St. Mary’s High School then transferred to Colorado Springs High in her senior year.
Janice worked at Ruth’s Oven where she met the love of her life. They were married at St. Mary’s Church, and had 60 wonderful years together.
Janice worked for the City of Colorado Springs in Utilities Payroll and Human Resources. She also did retirement seminars. Janice retired after 32 years.
Janice and her family took many vacations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Janice was classy, sweet, kind, and always had a smile.
Janice will be forever in our hearts. She was the woman that kept our family together. Until we meet again, we love you.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00AM, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
A Reception is to follow in the Parish Hall at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
