Jane Murray (Wohr), a wonderful mother, loved daughter, adored sister, cherished aunt and friend to all, passed away from cancer on Thursday June 15, 2017 at the age of 57. Jane was born on July 19, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Colorado Springs during her childhood where she then grew up and had two children of her own. Jane attended school locally at Mitchell High School and Pikes Peak Community College where she obtained her Associates degree as a paralegal and legal assistant. Jane loved her most recent career as a paralegal supervisor at the El Paso County Attorney’s office and was very passionate about helping others. Jane also loved her career at Sabin Middle School where she worked for several years. Throughout her careers, Jane enriched the lives many individuals with her charm and befriended everyone with her warm, beautiful smile.
Jane always put others before herself and made sure her family, friends, and coworkers felt at ease during difficult times and situations. Jane was incredibly kind and always knew what to say and how to say it which brought comfort to those around her. Not only was Jane kind and empathetic, but she also had a great sense of humor which made it easy for others to confide in her and communicate with her. Jane always put forth extra effort to make her family, friends, and coworkers smile and laugh as it made her very happy to see others happy. Even in the darkest of times, Jane had an optimistic attitude and continued to move forward for her children and family. Jane was a lover at heart yet she was also born a fighter as she fought through many difficult times as a single mother raising two children.
Aside from her career, Jane absolutely loved music with a special love for Elvis, Gladys Knight and James Taylor. Jane loved to attend concerts and would often surprise her family with tickets to shows because she wanted to share her love for music with those most important to her. Recently, before passing, Jane was able to see Rob Thomas, Hall & Oates, Gladys Knight, Jackson Browne, Elton John and Ann Wilson. Jane was always the life of the party and wanted others to join in on her love for life and music.
Jane also loved to travel and go on road trips to Breckenridge during the summer with her family. She loved to plan trips and have others join in on the fun. Along with having a love for traveling, Jane also loved to try new things and did many projects in her home. There was nothing too big, too small or too complicated for Jane. If Jane thought she could do it, then she made it happen. Jane will be remembered for her kindheartedness and love for life as well as her endless love for her friends and family.
Jane leaves behind her two children, Katherine and Joseph Murray; parents, Robert and Florence Wohr; sisters, Ellen Queen and Julie Wohr; nephews, Jason (Jennifer), Bobby (Angela),and Ryan; and nieces, Cassidy, Rachael, and Eve.
