Born to William and Margaret Simpson in Passaic, New Jersey. Jim graduated from the University of Vermont, School of Agriculture and was married to Barbara Megrath in 1958. He leaves behind in addition to his wife; children, Karen McMahon, Scott Simpson, Keith Simpson, Cheryl Trujillo, and David Simpson; sisters, Norma Gage, Christena Auriemma, Gretchen Simpson, and nine grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by his son, Timothy.
Jim received the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force and later retired as an Agronomist with Lincoln DeVore, Inc.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Jim will rest eternally in St. Mary's Cathedral Columbarium.
