James Daniel O’Bryan went to the arms of Our Lord on Sunday, November 25th with family at his side. Jim was born to Mary Della Miles and George Arthur O’Bryan on April 4, 1931, in New Hope, Kentucky. His siblings included 9 brothers and 5 sisters, only one sister remaining, Patsy Logsdon (Pat) of Loretto, Kentucky. He had numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim married Jean Lois Mattingly on May 5, 1951. They enjoyed 67 years of married life together. Together they had four children; Jim O’Bryan (Debbie), Lois Lipps (Mike), and Greg O’Bryan (Sonia). He has now joined the communion of saints that have gone on before him, including his son David. He is survived by his wife, Jean, their three children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jim spent 26 years of service with the Air Force, having many assignments state-side as well as in England, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, and Turkey. After retiring from the Air Force he was associated with Ken Reyhons Reality and Heritage Realtors.
He was among the first founders of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and remained a devoted member since.
Jim was a devoted husband and father and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
