James Rejino Garcia (Jim) was born November 18, 1945, to James F. Garcia and Elvira Garcia in Pueblo, CO. On August 11, 2023 James departed from this world. While our hearts are grieving, he was ready to enter eternal life with those who preceded him in death and were awaiting his arrival in Heaven: his wife Anita, daughter Juanita, sons Gregory and Aaron, and his parents James and Elvira.
Jim was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer on the New York Yankees and any team the Broncos were playing against, even though this made waves within the family. He especially enjoyed sports because he spent a significant amount of quality time watching games with his sons, grandsons and family. He loved to be part of the crowd cheering on his grandsons at their games and was always the life of the party at family events. His laugh could be heard for miles and will linger in our memory. Much of his life was spent making life-long memories and friendships while playing basketball and fast-pitch baseball, listening to music, shooting a good game of pool, and throwing horseshoes, which was one of his favorite pastimes. His strong work ethic and commitment to mentoring others was shared during his 30+ years as a journeyman molder.
James is survived by his sons Rev. Steven Garcia, James F. Garcia (Brittney), Michael Garcia Jr., daughter Alicia Martin (Matthew), grandsons James, Cruz, Noah, David, Joshua, granddaughter Izabella, Brother Michael Garcia Sr., and Sisters Diane Martinez, and Lenore Sanchez as well as a tremendous amount of close family, extended family and friends.
God only knows the plan God has as we selfishly want to have Jim back here with us. But we are at peace knowing he is free from pain and all of the world’s burdens. He will be missed beyond measure.
