He leaves his wife, Goldie R. Dyess of Ware, his son David Dyess and his wife Kelly Lynn of Ware, two daughters, Debra Kullman of Falcon, CO, and Kelly D. Dyess of Tempe, AZ; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his infant son, Steven. He was born in Seiling, Oklahoma, son of the late William H. and Etta (Stoddard) Texas, and lived in Calhan, Colorado for close to 40 years, before moving to Ware 4 years ago.
James was a United States Veteran of the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart medal. He was very proud of his service to our country, and remained a life-long member of the Clarence G. Dzuris VFW Post 5221 in Calhan.
James’ family would like to thank the dedicated staff of the Holyoke VNA, and the Holyoke Soldiers Home for his care.
Calling hours for James will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 5 to 7PM in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street in Ware, MA.
The Funeral Service is schedueld for Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00AM, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1450 5th, Calhan, CO with burial to follow in the Calhan Cemetery.
