When I think of Jim the the first memory that comes to mind is his smile that reached his eyes. His unwavering patience in all situations. His ability to show kindness and compassion in a world that didn’t always reciprocate. His fondness for Holland and desire to return. His unconditional love, oh his love.  “A father holds his daughter’s hand for a short while, but holds her heart forever”.  Forever in my heart, Rebeca

we will always remember the good times we all had while hanging out with Jim and my sister Neva! He was kind of quiet at times but had a great sense of homor and was fun to be around! And loved his gummy bears lol! He was really a good man and a caring man! And toke good care of my sister! He will really be missed by us( mary, cotton and thelma) and by everyone who knew him and loved him! May God wrap his loving arms around all his family and friends , and give them peace and comfort!

With heavy hearts we express our profound sadness for your loss Geneva.  JD was an outstanding bowler, a tough opponent, and a great mentor.  Overall he was a wonderful colleague and friend.  We will surely miss him… so much.   Keep smiling and rolling them strikes up there JD.   

Geneva, I have been out of town and just found out of JD's passing today.  My heart goes out to you and your family.   I don't remember all the people we bowled with, but one could never forget you and JD.   He was such a gentle soul and sweet man.   I pray you find comfort and peace in the coming months.  Call me if you would like to get together for lunch sometime (591-7834). 

My deepest condolences for you Grandma, my heart aches for you during this time. I will always remember Jim as a kind soul with gentle humor and a calming presence. Whenever I would visit you two in Colorado he was always such a joy to be around and have small chats with, he would always quietly listen to my stories, of school, and my life. Jim will truly be missed by many, but he will always be remembered as my loving Grandpa.

 During our lives, if we are fortunate enough, we come across people who are naturally good people, and Jim was one of them.  I was fortunate to have Jim call me family for over twenty years.  I remember Jim being so calm that at one point I asked him, how is that he doesn't let things bother him.  He shared with me that since coming back from Vietnam, fussing over upsets where not worth the trouble.  I was lucky enough to have gone to a concert with him where he seen his favorite artist Boney James, and although he didn't show great excitement, his big contagious smile said it all.  Jim you will forever be in my heart, and I feel truly blessed to have been a part of your life.  My deepest condolences goes out to his precious Genny of over forty years, may your days be filled with the love that Jim had for you.
 

In all of my years on this earth I have never met a more kind, caring and gentle man. Jim has been a Stepfather, mentor, friend, teacher and loving man that has always been there for me through good times and bad. He has been in my life for over 40 years and in that time I never heard him say anything bad about another person. He judged no one and looked for the best in all. As a stepfather for a struggling teen I could have never asked for a better man to help me work through the difficult times and show me not only through his example how to be a good man, but through gentle guiding and suggesting changes and new ways to look at life. Through Jim I have developed a love for all music but more specifically Jazz. I remember him saying “Hey man check this song out” and we would sit and listen his new favorite song or artist. Many of my favorite jazz songs I listen to today are ones he has shared with me. When I hear them now I smile, look up and say “Hey man, remember this song?”. He has had such a positive impact on me that I know for sure I am a better man because he was a part of my life and making me who I am. Jim, although I thank God I had the privilege and honor to have you in my life there will always be a hole in my heart because you are not here. I love you man, and one day we will sip some scotch and listen to good music again. Until then know the legacy of you lives on in my daughter and the values I have passed to her that are you. 

There was never a sweeter stepfather in all the world than Jim. We shared the same likes in movies, food, and the love for my mother.  Even in the end moments of this life he showed his love and concern for others as he gently kissed my hand and smiled.  I was privileged to witness the last gentle kiss shared between Jim and my mother.  It is a moment I will always cherish.  You will always be remembered and missed.  Teresa

My Condolence to the family,
JD was more than a friend he was family. I met JD when I started working at the PAFB , every time I mess up something he'd say "you Dummy" and to me that meant I'm family. He taught me everything I needed to know about printers, the help desk and a few pointers on bowling - see I was never good enough to make is bowling team :-) .. JD my friend you will always be in my heart.
