Isaac Clifford Cooper, 20 of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Clearfield, Utah. He was born September 11, 1991, in St. George, Utah, to William Clifford and Julie Basker Cooper. Isaac was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and graduated from Seminary. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Isaac graduated from Sand Creek High School in 2010, and was currently training to become a welder at Job Corps in Clearfield, Utah.
Isaac possessed strength and perseverance that gave him the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challengers. While at Sand Creek High School, he discovered one of his greatest passions; wrestling. His love of wrestling earned him the Rotary Club Spirit of Champions Award. He also received the first ever "Isaac Cooper Award" as a wrestler at his high school. This award is presented each year to the wrestler that perseveres through difficult circumstances of life both inside and outside the sport of wrestling. With his courage. he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. His unique sense of humor and goofy grin will be greatly missed by everyone.
Isaac is survived by his parents, Cliff and Julie Cooper of Colorado Springs; his brothers Kaleb and Kaden, both at home. He leaves his maternal grandparents, Spencer and Kathleen Madsen of Suprise, Arizona; and his paternal grandparents. William Clinton and Elva Jean Cooper of Calhan, Colorado. Isaac is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Peter Basker. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday April 17th at Mountain View Mortuary 2350 Montebello Sq. Dr, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral services will be held starting at 9:00 am Wednesday April 18th at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 5845 Hopalong Trail, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that yu make a donation to Denver Children's Hospital. All donations in memory of Isaac will be direct to the Children's Colorado Neurology Fund, which supports the Neurology department at Denver Children's Hospital.
