On June 14th, 1932, Irene Ruby Joan Banks was born to Caroline and Reginald Banks in London, England. She grew up during the dark days of the Blitz bombings over London. She, her sisters and occasionally her mother slept under an iron table for protection with their Alsatian, Judy. As a young woman in London she was a contestant for Miss Selfridge.
At the age of 21 she immigrated to America where she lived in Illinois with an aunt. A year later she met her husband to-be, Anthony Eiden Jr. Irene was proud to become a US Citizen in 1959. She had a successful career as a banker. She survived 2 spouses and a companion and lived in 5 states, finally residing in Colorado. She thoroughly enjoyed life despite some rough patches. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family, pets, dancing, gardening, cooking, camping, hiking, exercising, knitting, music and old movies. She also enjoyed attending British Clubs everywhere she lived. Sadly, she passed away at home after an illness on June 4, 2023.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, aunt to many nieces and nephews, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by 3 sisters, 2 children; Carol Kypers (Jeff) and Gary Eiden (Sheila), 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We will all miss her deeply.
Love you Mom.
