Ira Cooper peacefully passed away at home December 17, 2022 at the age of 93. He was born on December 22, 1928 in Ford County, Kansas. Ira married Colleen Oliver on May 15, 1955. He leaves behind two daughter, Beverly Garza and Gayla (Ron) Pipkin, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, four grandchildren, Mario (Heather) Garza, Jamie (Adam) Alexander, Cody (Samantha) Pipkin and Monica Garza and eight great grandchildren, Tanner Garza, Leo Garza, Aiden Alexander, Avelyn Garza, Ryelan Pipkin, Grayson Garza, Bella Alexander and Ashlynn Pipkin. Ira was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Olga Cooper, his wife Colleen Cooper, a sister Eris Dortch and a great grandson Mario P. Garza. When Ira retired from the Postal Service he and Colleen moved to Coaldale, CO. During his retirement, Ira was an active member of the Cotipaxi Community Church, the Cotipaxi Volunteer Fire Department. He loved living in the Coaldale Valley and spent much of his time hunting both animals and rocks. Ira loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time reading scripture, praying for his family, friends and country. Ira touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
