Ilene M. Mallett

Ilene May Mallett Hennessy passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2021. She was born on May 27, 1929 in Guthrie County, Iowa to Druella (Smouse) and Clint Heater and lived in Iowa until 1963 when she moved to Colorado. Ilene was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and 2 great men in her life: Glen R. Mallett and Charles (Chuck) D. Hennessy. Ilene was an artist in many ways. She worked in photography studios for 30 years coloring school pictures, as well as doing oil painting and china painting. Ilene also wrote poetry and a book about how she was raised in the thirties. She is survived by her sister Mary Ellen Fish, two children, Rhonda Sue (Ron) Beug, Ricky Dean (Anne) Mallett, seven grandchildren: Amy (Matt) Karrels, Ann (Les) Shaw, Joseph (Noelle) Beug, Amanda (Jeremy) Sampson, Dustin (Melissa) Leonhardt, Adam (Angie) Leonhardt and Travis (Hope) Mallett; and 15 great grandchildren. There will be a family memorial service at 10:00am on Friday, February 26th, 2021 at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs.
