Helen M. (Isaac) McCullough passed away on May 29, 2012. She was born to Albert and Sigrid Isaac in Colorado Springs on July 13, 1926, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School (1944) and The Colorado College (1948). Helen married Jack A. McCullough in 1947.
At the age of 13, she went to work in her father’s jewelry store. Helen taught kindergarten for 13 years at Bates Elementary School. She was a member of the Junior League, served on the Colorado Springs Day Nursery board and the vestry of Grace and Saint Stephens Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with many groups of friends.
Helen is survived by her children; Linda (Tom) Vandezande, Nancy (Manning) George, Michael, and Katharine (Jon) Lee. She is also survived by her grandchildren Elizabeth, Molly, Nicholas, Robert, Matthew, Michael, Lindsey, Emma, Kirk and Lisa, and great grandchildren Jack, Ryan, Nathan, Sarah, Elijah and Peyton. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Robert, husband Jack, son-in-law Jeffery and grandsons Jacob and Joseph. She is also survived by brother-in-law Sam and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her family believes her greatest accomplishment was to instill them with a love of God, family and country. We will miss her wisdom, advice and great spirit.
A memorial service is planned for 10:00AM Saturday June 2, 2012 at St. George’s Anglican Church, 217 E. Pikes Peak Ave, Colo. Springs, CO 80903.
