Gwendolyn R Morgan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of sixty-four on December 21, 2018, in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a courageous three-year battle with metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer. Gwen/Wendy was born in Glendive, Montana on September 20,1954, the third of four sisters to the late Andrew and Alvina Bruski and spent her early years in Beach, North Dakota. Her family moved to Colorado Springs in the early 1960’s where she graduated from Mitchell High School and attended the University of Northern Colorado. Gwen met her husband, Tim, while he was in the Air Force, stationed in Colorado Springs. They were married in October 1973 and spent their forty-five year life together living, working and raising their family in Colorado Springs.
Gwen worked in the local banking industry for thirty-six years and finished her career working for School District 11. She loved music and spent many years singing and performing with local groups including the original Song Spinners and Vocal Fusion. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Disney World, New York, Hawaii, the Cayman Islands and Mexico.
Gwen leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband, Timothy Morgan, her loving sons, Kyle Morgan of Colorado Springs, and Kevin Morgan of Houston, Texas. Her precious grandchildren, Abigail and Cameron, her loving sisters and brother-in-laws, Karen and John Armstrong, and Camille and Richard (Bruce) Roberts. She was preceded in death by her sister Marcia (Marcy) Parks.
Visitation will take place on January 4, 2019 from 3-6pm, followed by the Rosary from 6-7pm at Swan- Law Funeral Directors, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A life celebration and mass will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
