Jerry went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. Jerry was born on August 13th, 1950, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He grew up in Broken Bow, Nebraska and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1969. At the age of seventeen, Jerry accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and at the age of eighteen followed the leading of the Lord Jesus Christ to train for the ministry at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned a three-year diploma in Christian Education; then received a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education & Theology from Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa; and lastly, a Master’ Degree in Christian Education from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. God’s hand was upon his life, leading him to serve as a pastor and shepherd at churches in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Colorado. He served for five years as an Associate Professor at Appalachian Bible College in West Virginia. He faithfully served the Lord for fifty years and was continuing to pastor Maranatha Bible Fellowship until the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Irene (Griffith) Hageman, and his brother, Robert Littlejohn; grandchildren Boaz Moon, Constance Grace Moon and Hope Gilley. He was a faithful and loving husband to Elizabeth (West) Littlejohn, his wife of 48 years. He is also survived by his three married daughters: Rachel & Gary Moon of Sandy Point, Texas; Rebekah & Brian Chung of Altoona, Iowa; and Ruth & Terrill Gilley of Winston Salem, North Carolina. He has ten grandchildren: Jonathan Moon (wife Alyssa), Elizabeth Moon, Anna Chung, Noah Chung, Silas Chung, Lucy Gilley, and Henry Gilley. He is also survived by his father, George Everett and wife Marie Littlejohn of Sac City, Iowa; three brothers Keith (wife Bonnie) Littlejohn of Omaha, Nebraska, Kenny (wife, Pattie) Littlejohn of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Ronald Littlejohn of Fort Collins, Colorado; along with many extended family members.
His favorite verses of Scripture—Proverbs 3:5-6; John 3:16; Philippians 1:6.
His passions and hobbies included—an avid Nebraska Football fan; reading; teaching; and when he was young, playing volleyball; researching his family genealogy.
His greatest achievement is that God has been faithful to him and to his family, allowing several of his children and grandchildren to follow in his footsteps of faithful service to the Lord Jesus Christ.
