Gene was born on October 23, 1926 in Steger, Illinois to the late Joseph and Edna (Neuhoff) Noel. After he graduated high school, he joined the United States Army and served honorably for two years during WWII. He married Rosella Enzweiler on June 28, 1947. Together they started a family in Steger, Illinois, where they lived, until moving to Colorado in January of 1986.
He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church. He was a past Grand Knight and a past Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus, and an officer in the local AARP.
He is survived his daughters, Michele (Curt) Brown, Maureen (Fred) Swets, Meribeth (John) Bennish, Marilyn (Rick) Jauch, Margaret (Jack) Winemiller; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella, in January of 2015; and his parents and his siblings.
