Gail Helena Pring Blount was born in Colorado Springs Oct. 25, 1950 to Roy and Charlotte Pring. A fourth-generation Coloradan, she attended high school in the Springs, and graduated from CU Boulder in 1972 with a degree in English. She married the love of her life,William I "Bill" Blount in 1970, making her home in the Colorado Springs area.
Gail started her own local business (the famous Knit One shop) and managed several successful real estate ventures over the years.
She always had time for her two sons, whom she loved with all her heart. Gail took great joy participating in all aspects of their lives and was extremely proud of them.
Gail was an avid reader and patron of the visual and performing arts. Gail and Bill began a lifetime of adventure when they toured around Western Europe in 1971 in a tiny VW bug, culminating in recent years with trips to Scandinavia and Italy with her family.
Known for her sharp wit and dry humor, her kindness and empathy for others, Gail was a treasured member of the family and will be sorely missed. She was a deeply- loved friend to many over the years. Her best legacy lies in the warmth and love that she offered freely and wisely.
She is survived by her husband, her sons Colin Benjamin Pring Blount (wife: Victoria Smiley-Blount) and Evan Paul Pring Blount, and her sister, Cynthia M. Pring.
