Eugenia "Jean" Swim

Eugenia L. Swim, 86, died of natural causes January 11, 2023, at the Canon Lodge Care Center in Canon City, CO. She was born March 6, 1936, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Clara (Merritt) Swim.

Jean was a graduate of Newton (KS) High School and Wichita State University. After college, Jean moved to Colorado and became an elementary school teacher, primarily at the Fort Carson Army Base. Jean was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and spent most of her adult life breeding, raising, and showing dogs.

Jean was predeceased by her father and mother. Surviving are her sister, Anita Kay (Swim) Worley, of St. Louis, MO; nephew Tim Worley of Wildwood, MO, and his wife Janelle; niece Amy (Worley) Madrid of Forney, TX, and her husband Mark; nephew Jeff Worley of Amarillo, TX and his wife Kyndra; and many great nieces and nephews.

A viewing and funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO. Arrangements by Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs.
