Emily Jeanette Hickman

Emily was born July 1, 1930 in Elbert, Colorado to Iva Dittemore and Everett Dittemore.

As a child, Jeanette always wanted to be a nurse. She made that dream come true at the age of 18 when she became a Beth El nurse at Memorial Hospital. She loved working in the children’s ward nursery and was very proud of her profession. She married Gerald Hickman on June 11, 1954. Jeanette loved spending time with her family, travel, drives to Cripple Creek, music and shopping for her grandchildren.

Emily is survived by her daughters Beth Theler (Robert) and Judy McElderry (Tim), grandchildren Derek, Ashlea, Ryan, Austin, Elizabeth, Maggie, great grandchild, August, Durwyn, Phoenix, Caelee and daughter-in-law, Virginia Hickman.

Emily was preceded in passing by her husband, Gerald Lee Hickman; son Clifford Hickman; father, Everett Dittemore and mother, Iva Dittemore.

Per Jeanette’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held only for immediate family at Memorial Gardens Cemetery , 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
